Welcome to

The Breakroom.

Chances are, the only time you talk to other business owners is on sales calls or when you’re delivering something to a client. But, you don’t have a space to talk about what it’s like to be a business owner.

That’s what this space is.

Honestly?

WE BUILT THIS BECAUSE WE NEEDED IT & WE REALIZED WE WEREN'T THE ONLY ONES.

A few months ago, we started hosting Coffee Chats for business owners who wanted to connect and talk about business.

We’d been feeling lonely ourselves, hungry for the spaces and individuals who we could have real conversations with and talk about business ideas with.We had no idea how many other business owners were feeling the same way.

Coffee Chats turned into weekly community calls (now called Peer Masterminds) where every Friday, we got to spend an hour with other business owners talking about specific topics that would help grow their businesses.

Marketing
Sales
Offers
The intersection of life and business (mat leave, burnout, pivoting).
At the end of every call, we’d be stunned (in the best way) by the amount of knowledge that was shared on the calls.

People went from thinking “I have no one to talk to about this” or “I have no idea how to approach this problem in my business” to:

“Finally, someone who gets it (and is willing to tell me what they know without selling me on their program)”

Every business owner we know has been through it this year, ourselves included. Between the ever-changing economy, personal set-backs, things shifting dramatically in the online space…business has felt all over the place – uncertain, unpredictable, and let’s be real, a bit unsafe.

That’s why we created The Breakroom.

A quick note from Lyndon

Why is this for Creative Service Providers?

I clearly remember the first book on sales that I bought because all the reviews were positive about how impactful it was to business’ sales.

It was 150+ pages about how to scrape a list of thousands of names from LinkedIn and then cold call them all.

I didn’t know how to apply any of it to our photography business (at the time).

For learning & advice to be easily applicable, it’s generally easier to ask someone who is successfully doing what you want to do, in the same way you’d want to do it.

Whether that means how you market your business, what systems & workflows make sense for you to build out, or how to show up on a sales call - everyone will have enough in common to be able to have a conversation where everyone learns something new.

By having the right people in the room, every conversation gets more specific, the takeaways more applicable, and most importantly you don’t have to spend 20 minutes explaining the context to a question because people will know exactly what you mean … because they get it.

Oh, you wanna know more about what’s inside? Say less.

Book Club:

We’re certified bookworms over here and if you’re like most business owners in The Breakroom, you probably are, too! Each month we’ll vote on a business book to read together throughout the month, and then we’ll have a discussion call to talk about our takeaways and thoughts around it! You can read at your own pace, it’s totally okay if you haven’t finished the full book before our discussion call. In November, we’ll be reading When I Start My Business I’ll Be Happy by Sam Vander Wielen – she’ll actually be joining us as a guest for the discussion, so you’ll get to meet her as well!

CO-WORKING CALLS:

Let’s be real, it can be a chore to get yourself in the zone some days – especially when you WFH, or if you have ADHD, or if you don’t have anyone to keep you accountable. That’s why we do a virtual co-working call once a month, to give you the space to mentally clock in on whatever it is you need to get done, knowing you’re in a room where others are too! There’s just something about being around other business owners who are all working on their own thing, too. You can work on whatever you want. We’ll have a dedicated hour to focus together – yes, please.

Monthly Masterclasses

It feels like as soon as you learn about one part of your business there’s something new that you have to learn. Based on the conversations we’re having in The Breakroom, we’ll have a topical masterclass each month taught by us or a guest speaker. Our November masterclass will be “Ads for Beginners” hosted by Aashima Verma, who will share how to start using Ads to market your business. In December we’ll host a Planning for 2026 masterclass.

PEER MASTERMINDS:

Picture being in a room with other business owners you look up to, who freely give you their advice and perspectives on the problems you’re facing in your business. That’s what our Peer Mastermind calls are. These calls are always jam-packed with so much value, and the topics range from week to week. We host these calls every Friday, so that you can connect with different business owners and talk about different topics each time. Here’s some of the topics we’ve talked about during Peer Mastermind calls:

  • Showing up in creative ways with marketing as a verbal processor
  • How to sign clients for a 12-mo program (fear of commitment, lack of self-trust)
  • Getting sales outside of friends and family
  • How buyer behavior has shifted in 2025
  • Planning for maternity leave
  • Building systems for your business
  • Using Pinterest to market your business

HOT SEAT Q&A:

You’ve got questions, we’ve got thoughts, solutions, ideas, frameworks, and resources. During our Hot Seat Q&A calls, we’ll choose six members to “put in the hot seat” for their business. If you’re in the hot seat, you’ll get up to 10min to ask us one question and we’ll coach you through it. And, because our mind goes blank when we’re put on the spot too, here’s some sample questions of what we’ve covered in the past:

  • I’m having really good discovery calls with people – they say they want to book, but when I send the proposal they change their mind. How do I convert them?
  • Can you do a live audit of my Instagram stories/posts?
  • One of my team members keeps dropping the ball and I know I need to have a conversation with them, but I’m nervous about how they’ll react. How should I approach it?
Disclaimer: deliverables may change slightly month to month based on feedback we hear from members about what is most valuable for achieving the transformation! We want this space to be as impactful as possible, which means if multiple members are requesting something different we will absolutely take that into consideration. Fun fact, there is a “Feedback” channel inside The Breakroom where you can share any feedback you have for us, so we can continue making this a space that is impactful and beneficial for the community as a whole!

Real quick – it’s incredibly important to us that this space is psychologically safe. That’s why we have core principles for The Breakroom.

Put simply, this is a curated group of people that we think model the type of community we want to foster. This also means that as we grow, inevitably, we'll have to remove people who damage the culture we're building (we have, and we will).

In an attempt to be transparent about the culture we're protecting, here are the core principles we're asking everyone in The Breakroom to follow:

The Breakroom is built on Psychological Safety

McKinsey defines this as "Psychological safety means feeling safe to take interpersonal risks, to speak up, to disagree openly, to surface concerns without fear of negative repercussions or pressure to sugarcoat bad news. Psychological safety nurtures an environment where people feel encouraged to share creative ideas without fear of personal judgment or stepping on toes."

The Breakroom is about community & learning, not sales

It's okay to mention your offers, but no sales pitches, and no using the contact information found in The Rolodex to cold pitch other members via DMs & emails - we encourage you to follow up with people "offline" if you want to know more about their offers (there’s even space specifically in the rolodex to list your offers).

The Breakroom is a place for conversation and free-flowing information

No one is forced to share anything they don't want to, and no Quid-Pro-Quo (eg: if you give me this information, I'll give you that one) is allowed.

The Breakroom is a place to ask for help, not handouts

We won't do it for you, but as a community, collectively we'll (likely) be able to give advice, resources, and personal experiences. This also means you can't ask the same question repeatedly without ever applying anything; the expectation is you're going to make progress on your own as well.

The Breakroom is a place where everyone's voice is equal

Whether you're the most experienced or just started out, you're in the community for a reason, and your voice matters. Try to participate, and make sure everyone else does as well. On the flip side, this means no lurkers; if you join a call, it's expected you'll participate.

The Breakroom is a place for Human connection (not AI or team members)

Across any meeting place/resources that are current or future, only the person invited is intended to participate, meaning you can't delegate "engagement" to a team member and will not use any AI tools to replace or mimic connection (eg: AI avatars on zoom, chatGPT answers to sound smarter, copy paste replies that you didn't think of yourself).

If you grimaced while reading our Core Principles, then The Breakroom isn’t for you.

On the flipside, if you read all that and thought “This is the kind of space I’ve been looking for”...then, keep reading.

Okay, but what’s the investment?

So far, we’ve talked about offer development & sales processes (to give you some ideas)!

Don’t just take our word for it.

"The break room provided me with a space to feel less alone in my business, to ask questions I wouldn’t otherwise have the platform to, and to bounce ideas off of business owners who get it. Having Jo & Lyndon as guides and resources throughout these calls has been such an awesome experience."
Jesse @vibrantdigitalsolutions
"Joining jo + lyndon’s peer mastermind has been everything I’d been looking for and didn’t even know I needed. Running a one-woman show can feel super isolating at times, but this space has been such a refreshing, genuine source of connection + support."
Leina @leina.meg
"I have LOVED being in The Breakroom! It has made such a difference in my business not only getting amazing advice from other business owners + Jo & Lyndon, but it also makes me feel less alone in my business. Being in a community of like-minded business owners makes business more fun. I look forward to our calls every Friday because I always learn something new or feel inspired more in my business."
Courtney @littlecreativecompany
"What I love most is that Jo and Lyndon structured it as a true mastermind, not just a “what are you struggling with this week” call. As a mom of two boys, I can’t always make it live, so having the recaps helps me keep up (and seriously reduces the FOMO). Still, there’s something about ending my week in The Breakroom that just feels grounding and inspiring. It truly feels like a community. Also, Jo and Lyndon always have the most unexpected gems up their sleeves. You never know what you’ll learn from them next!!"

Inside The Breakroom

You’re human (duh), so you probably have some hesitations like…

You might be asking questions like…

Is there a limit for the Basic tier?

No, there is not! There is only a limit for the VIP tier (25 spots maximum) since it includes coaching aspects.

How are you vetting people who join?

Everyone will fill out an application so we can vet individuals before joining. We also have a set of core principles (listed above) that we expect members to follow and will remove members if necessary.

What’s a typical coaching call like? For VIP, what’s the difference between regular coaching vs. membership options?

Great question! Our 1:1 coaching options range from $995-2500, depending on whether you book a 90-min intensive, 3-month coaching container, or in-person VIP coaching day. Inside The Breakroom, if you join the VIP tier, you’ll be able to book one-off coaching calls (30-min Q&A or 60-min power hour) for only $147-247.

Is the VIP channel where anyone in VIP can see the questions asked or is it a private feed just between me and you guys?

It's a feed for everyone in the VIP tier, but limited to the 25 people max that have made the longer term 6 month commitment. You’ll be getting our (Jo & Lyndon) thoughts on your coaching question in the comments.

How much access will we get to you in the coaching channel for the VIP tier?

We’ll reply to any questions in the channel within 48 hours throughout Mon-Fri between 10am-5pm EDT.

What’s the cancellation policy?

For the Basic plan, you can cancel anytime and you’ll lose access at the end of your current billing cycle. The VIP plan is a 6-month commitment and is non-refundable.

Will the community be moderated?

Yes!! We’ll be monitoring the group activity. You will also be able to report any content if you see something that goes against our community guidelines and we’ll review.

How does Hot Seat Coaching work?

Each month we’ll choose 3-6 members to coach on a Live call as a group. You’ll get roughly 10-20mins of coaching from Jo & Lyndon on a question you have in your business.

Who can join?

Creative Service Providers of any gender! We’ll be vetting people via applications to vet that they’re a good fit before they sign up, to ensure a safe and growth-oriented space for everyone inside.

Will there be replays available for the calls?

We will provide replays for monthly masterclasses and Hot Seat Coaching. If you’re in the Basic plan, you’ll receive written summaries for the Peer Mastermind calls.

Ready to join?

Fill out the form below and we’ll reach out with more details if you’re approved!

Thank you! Your submission has been received!
Oops! Something went wrong while submitting the form.

You’re still here?

Here’s a couple other hesitations we’ve heard

I’ve invested in courses, guides, and resources and they’ve never really moved the needle in my business.

We hate to say it… but, the big educators haven’t “done it” recently - that’s why community is such a core part of the membership. Business and tools are changing so fast that you need to be talking to the people currently doing business the same way you are.

I should just go through all the educational resources I already own before buying more.

Life’s busy. If you haven’t looked at them yet - you probably never will. The Breakroom is set up with (honestly) a lot of Live things to keep you accountable and working on growing your business. Because, when you let your email inbox prioritize your week you’ll end up prioritizing client work, never learning, growing, or getting to the next level. With one educational call, and one peer mastermind per week, you’ll have dedicated time to learn and ask questions as you apply each week.

People aren’t buying anymore

People aren’t buying in the same way as before. Yes, as a whole people are guarding their wallets more closely, and we get it. However, it doesn’t mean that they’re not buying anything, at all, ever again. It means they’re thinking about purchases differently. This will require you getting creative in your offers and super duper clear in your messaging. Don’t worry, we talk about sales a lot inside The Breakroom.

This is just networking

Nope, nope, nope - on day one of Lyndon’s MBA program at a top 25 program in the country, the professor got up and basically said “this room is a U shape so that you’re facing your classmates, because honestly you’re gonna learn more from them and their experiences than you will from me.” And boy was he right! Lyndon had classmates that came from being restaurant managers, competitive athletes, call center employees, assembly line workers, and so much more. But every topic covered was put into context of & improved by the experiences of every person in the room. That’s what we’re building with The Breakroom. We’re going to learn together and we, Jo & Lyndon, will bring everyone’s voices to the table so that we get better.
